Haush Ltd Secures Planning Permission for 15 MW Green Hydrogen Production Facility at Pembroke Dock

by | Jul 1, 2025

Pembroke Dock, Wales – June 2025

Haush Ltd, a pioneering green energy technology company, is pleased to announce it has been granted planning permission by Pembrokeshire County Council for the development of a 15 MW green hydrogen production facility located at Gate 4, Pembroke Dockyard, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6TE.

Project Overview

This landmark project, part of the Celtic Freeport initiative, includes the installation of state-of-the-art electrolysers, hydrogen compressors, an 11 kV substation, welfare and operations unit, and full supporting infrastructure.

A Leap Toward Decarbonisation

Harnessing clean electricity sourced from the National Grid and other renewable energies, the facility will produce green hydrogen via water electrolysis, ready for use in zero-emission transportation, heavy machinery, and industrial applications.

“As leaders in green hydrogen innovation, Haush is dedicated to decarbonising critical sectors”

“Securing approval for this 15 MW facility is a major step in delivering clean energy solutions for the marine, construction, and transport industries.”

Safety-First, Demand-Driven Approach

Aligned with Haush’s safety-first ethos, hydrogen will be produced and compressed on-demand with no fixed onsite storage. The compressed gas will be transferred off-site via tube-trailers, limiting onsite hydrogen exposure.

Community and Economic Impact

Strategically located on a former shipyard, the site helps reinforce Pembroke Dock’s transition into a global marine energy and engineering centre. Anticipated benefits include local job creation during construction and operation, along with targeted skills training for residents, in collaboration with local educational institutions.

Next Steps

Following permission approval, Haush will finalise detailed designs and begin preparatory works. Once operational, the facility will handle up to six HGV movements per day, each delivering hydrogen within a five-hour turnaround.

This is a key milestone for Haush and supports our policy of producing green hydrogen and other biofuels to deliver the energy independence our clients are looking for.”
